Sleepytime Series
Last week Daddy DayCare started at my house. I am staying home with my 3 month old daughter until the summer. So in order to simplify my schedule I will be painting whenever I can... which is when she's cat napping during the day or when she and my 3 month old son are asleep at night!
This is the first painting in that series... I will be auctioning all of these pieces off at the end of my tenure or at the end of each month. I haven't yet decided. Stay tuned to see if I can make up my mind.
This is a piece painted from some reface I found whilst "organizing" some 45,000 photos I've taken since the dawn of digital photography. It was taken in Utah when Julie and I went to Victor so I could do a workshop with Scott Christensen.
Every time I try to do a little skectch or just play in paint, I like to have an intent. An intent for me can be anything, something to explore and try. Sometimes it something as simple as trying a new medium and seeing how I like it. For this painting, I used Maroget as my medium. I have used it before, but it was in a workshop a long time ago I would like to forget. Maroget gets a bad rap as being very unstable. Did I hear Turner used it and the museums are having a hard time keeping his paintings from falling apart?
I hope you will take the time to comment on anything that strikes you.
